Mistborn: The Final Empire was enjoyable and has all the flavor that was present with the Way of Kings and Words of Radiance. Brandon Sanderson does a great job of bringing a complex fantasy world down to earth with the use of well-developed characters and conflicts. His writing is easy to comprehend even though the stories are dynamic and involve plenty of mystery. It is easy to get immersed in the world Brandon Sanderson has created and I will continue reading this series and the Stormlight Archive series as well. I didn't really think that this book helped inform the events of the Stormlight Archive so far but maybe it will add context as it continues. It definitely works on its own but if I were to rate them I liked the first two books in the Stormlight Archive more but by a small margin. All of these books are really exciting and enjoyable to read and I can't wait to see what happens next! I highly recommend Mistborn: The Final Empire to anyone who enjoys deep fantasy!

Dungeon Crawler Carl is written by Matt Dinniman, and it was a refreshingly new style for me. I love video games and am a huge RPG fan, so this book was a blast to read. Matt Dinniman adds depth and drama to what could be a low-risk video game romp by adding real stakes for the main characters. There is more here than just wondering what it would be like if a person and a cat were in a game, and as we learn about the history of the show and the economy of the overworld, we find that there is a lot more to juggle than just taking out mobs and blowing up bosses. I highly recommend Dungeon Crawler Carl for anyone who enjoys clever sci-fi and fantasy-style stories based on role-playing game mechanics. It has violence, humor, and suspense, and was a breeze to read through. I found myself finding it hard to put it down. Check it out!

Carl’s Doomsday Scenario was a ton of fun, and if you liked Dungeon Crawler Carl, you will want to continue to series. I feel like there is no turning back on this fun story, and I will have to continue reading the series to find out what happens next. The characters continue to develop, and my attachment to them continues to evolve. I highly recommend these books, and I’m excited to get into the next one soon.

That’s all I will say about the plot. The point of this review is to convey my desire for you to read the book even if you have seen the show. If you don’t want to read the book then the Audible version is excellent. It is read by a man named Roy Dotrice and he does a great job of voicing the characters and makes the entire experience highly engaging. I ingest my books mostly via the paper form but listening to a book, when it is read well, can be an equally enthralling experience. I recommend A Game of Thrones to anyone who loves medieval drama and suspenseful intrigue.

Words of Radiance is a magnificent novel and the Stormlight Archive series has captivated my attention to no end. If you have read The Way of Kings then you will no doubt enjoy this continuation of the story as much as I have. I enjoyed this epic fantasy tale immensely and would recommend it to those who enjoy medieval-style high-fantasy. Strap in for a wild ride with Words of Radiance!

Dan Caine is green to the ways of peacekeeping but his strong moral fiber compels him to take the murderers into custody. He isn't out for revenge. He's out for justice if he can have it. He learns the hard way that things don't always go as planned and sometimes the one seeking justice can end up on the wrong side of a noose but through it all, he doesn't lose his way. He stays true blue and gains the respect of good men. He is a true Western hero. Guns of the Vigilantes is a fun and exciting Western tale with unexpected turns and real grit.
