Read MoreEveryone knows about the Game of Thrones series. Whether you like the shows or read the books or both you know that George R.R. Martin can spin an epic yarn. His ability to create a world full of unique characters, political manipulation, and intense combat is legendary. He is able to engage an audience through intertwining stories that involve multiple plots and subplots that all relate to each other and end up coming together in a way that is both exciting and cohesive. This is the case in the Game of Thrones books and I recommend people go out and read them. I also recommend people read two other books that I had never heard of until I found them in a local bookstore.

Or if you just like the horror genre and like the idea of the scary shit not going on too long because they are short stories.

Read MoreThis is a very well-written and exciting book to read. It is easy to get caught up in the peril and suspense the main character faces on a daily basis. You can’t help but put yourself in his shoes and imagine what kind of hell it would be like to survive in such a desolate and unforgiving world.
Read MoreWhen I picture you now, I envision you like how we imagined ghosts as children. White sheets draped over a body with two holes cut for the eyes to see. Maybe it’s Halloween night and you had to create a costume on a budget, or maybe you’re stalking the house, waiting for your opportunity to scare me. It feels childish and innocent and easy to imagine you so simply. It’s easier to picture that than the alternative, your withered figure wracked with cancer glowing ethereally like the ghost of Christmas past.
